A really important question, i own a Yamaha ray zr 125 scooter, and the company recommended grade is 10W40, whereas almost every other scooter usages 10W30, 10w30 is easily available, but its such a hassle to get a 10w40 scooter oil, out of curiosity i tried using Motul 3100 10w30 scooter, but engine started heating noticeably even on 5km round trip, now i am worried, should i keep using it ? And why yamaha recommending 10w40 in the first place? please reply

can you also review Idemitsu synthetic engine oils. IS it not an oil that is used in scooters? like tvs jupiter 125 access 125 etc?

Can you test and compare following: Idemitsu IFG5 (0w20) or IFD5 (5w30), shell helix taxi 5w30, ecstar f9000 0w20/5w30, castrol magnatec, mannol legend Also, i think Idemitsu ones are the same thing which sold under Maruti Ecstar F9000 series oil (though cheaper) I have been using Honda Genuine oil (semi-synthetic, 0w20 or 5w30 sometimes) in my Honda City 2015 petrol, now touching 1 lakh ODO, going to do Engine Flush (Liqui Moly), followed by changing oil filter, cleanup and filling it with Shell Helix Taxi 5w30, run for about 500 to 1000km, drain it, change oil filter, add finally Idemitsu IFG5 (0w20) along with MoS2 Liqui Moly... All set for another year or 10000kms.. This shall also compare the Shell Helix Taxi 5w30 with Idemitsu IFG5 0w20 😊 Additionally adding Liqui Moly Gear MoS2 to gear oil which was last changed at 60000, next change in coming 2years at 120000... Or may be just add fresh MTF before adding MoS2 20g x1 into it
